- Tree arrived three weeks before Christmas and was falling apart.
- Return slip promised multiple times, never received, and the return window passed.
Received the tree weeks before Christmas. Pulled the tree out of the box and it was falling apart.
The tips of the branches were falling off. Wen to return the tree and was promised a return slip that I never received. They drug their feet until time had passed. Called several times after and promised a return slip.
Now they are telling me it can no longer be sent back because it is beyond return date. They can't be trusted and their product is horrible.
I'm telling everyone look elsewhere for a tree. This product is even close to worth the money.

I bought one of your trees, It was expensive for me, live on SSI. I felt it would last for a long time, but then the lights started going out, one strand at a time. I .

I was told that that was a problem you had with those lights. I would have to take them off the tree and I would have to replace them.
I was shocked that this was not covered from your company due to the fact they were defective lights. At my age, 82 in November, this is not something I can do so now I have an expensive tree that I can not put up again.
I feel you should replace the tree without cost to me because you used defective products on the tree.
My advise to new coustomers is not buy from you at your high proces because your products are defective and your people we talk to about the problem are not kind AT ALL.
So until I can save up enough money to but another tree my disabled son and I will not have a Christmas tree.

I have had this product about 2-3 years. This year I had it hanging outside for winter and some of the leaves (actually quite a few) are no longer red.
Because this product is made for hanging outside, I do not understand how that could have happened.
Do you stand behind your products? If you do, I believe that you should replace the product at no charge as the one that you sent me is obviously faulty.

What a complete disaster of an order for a $2700 tree. The first shipment was three boxes.
Two of these boxes were labeled as 3 of 3 for the order, and one box was a completely different tree that was old and out of date. It had not even been sold by Balsam Hill for 3 years. So we got undesirable items from the warehouse instead of what we ordered. Two hours were spent dealing with customer support, sending photos, bar codes, shipping label photos, and we were promised it would be resolved in 24 hours with shipping boxes 1 of 3 and 2 of 3 for the order we placed to complete the set.
We were also told that we could keep or toss the incorrect items we received. 24 hours later, there was no shipping information. 48 hours later, there was still no information. After reaching out to customer support seven more times, we received box 1 of 3, but were still missing box 2 of 3.
A full week later, after 10 more customer support inquiries through the website, chats, emails, etc, we finally got the missing box delivered. It was late compared to the tracking that took us countless hours to even get from customer support. Following this, we received an email instructing us to return the three boxes we received incorrectly or we would be charged. But how can we send back three boxes when one of them was correct and only two replacement boxes were sent to us in the first place?
Now we must dismantle the tree yet again and send the third box back with the other two boxes we were already told to keep. We have screenshots of all these instructions from the chat. Then we have to wait for another shipment of box 3 of 3 that we received the first time around but are now required to ship back and await another reshipment of box 3 of 3. What a complete disaster and I’m biting my tongue on what I truly want to say.
All we wanted for Christmas was a new tree. We spent $2700 for a tree and three weeks later, we are still dealing with a complete disaster. We don’t have a full tree but we have a ton of threatening emails about sending all the items back, which seems to be the only focus of Balsam Hill as opposed to fulfilling the order we made.
It looks like our next steps are going to involve refusing the charges with American Express and allowing them to deal with this madness. We will also have to find a new vendor for the tree, leave a complaint with the BBB and post online reviews on sites like Google.

Been waiting to try a Balsam Hill tree since last year. Everytime you run a sale the tree I want is out of stock!
They advised once in stock cannot get the sale price until the next sale runs. Twice now I went to the website as soon as I get the email about the sale and it's still out of stock from last year!!! What's going on??? You need to take orders for the ones out of stock and honor the sale price once they come back in.
I think you don't offer that because they never come in! So frustrating!!!

Balsum Hill commercials are still being shown. Christmas is about the birth of a savior child.
As far as I know Christmas/birthdays are celebrated ONCE a year Not all year long.
I can appreciate this company selling their beautiful trees and support charities around the world but when I see TV Commercials constantly airing sales for Christmas trees in April I'm offended, upauled as a consumer that this company would minipulate the religious holiday for profit.
It's like eating too much candy, IT'S SICKENING.
My Christmas holiday season begins in December but I carry the Christmas spirit all year long...I take my tree/Christmas decorations down in January I am not a fanatic that must leave holiday decor up year long!!! There's other special occasions to be celebrated and if one holiday is dominant, and forced down consumers throat, well then the idea of Christmas becomes less important!!!
This company, in my opinion, is spoiling the true meaning of Christmas for a lot of people.

Just a warning: I got scammed by the Balsam Hill company. I bought a tree on sale for $1600.00 and less than a year later, most of the lights went out.
They gave me a very hard time about replacing it and even suggested that I go to Home Depot and buy more lights to put on there. Finally I got them to replace it but they wanted the original tree back. My poor husband and I had to wrestle a 9 ft tree into 2 refrigerator boxes and return. They then sent me a replacement tree that was $300.00 cheaper because mine was out of stock.
The new tree lights lasted 1 year again! That time when I called they said we dont warranty replacements. So in other words, they replaced my defective tree, with another defective tree. Their customer service is horrible.
I would never buy anything from them again.
We thought we were investing in a tree to last for many years. Not the case. This year we are going to cut all of the lights off and restring. We have to try to get our moneys worth.
For 2 older people, this is very difficult work. Very sad that they do not stand behind their products.#balsamhill
