Balsam Hill - Customer Agitation Department
I bought a $900 tree last year. I set it up and it was very precarious.
I contacted Balsam Hill, who dismissed my concerns and said it was fine. We were very careful to not go near the tree. This year, I took it out and, since it was not yet set up, I carefully inspected the stand. One of the legs is not fully welded and is loose, hence the wobbly tree.
I contacted Balsam Hill in a chat. They said they would replace it and I'd get it in a week. I said my kids are home from college, I want them to help, I raised this issue last year, you have that in your records, I really think you should expedite this. The guy kept sidestepping the question, then finally said ok.
Next morning, I get approval of the part replacement, and it says 5-7 days. I immediately replied and went through the story again, and was told oh, ok, we will expedite. Not. It will get here 6 days later - which is one day longer than the $400 of merchandise I got last week that was shipped standard.
Now they tell me they have so many orders, they don't approve expediting many things that should be expedited.
Translation: they don't care how much money you've spent, that you are an existing customer who bought a faulty product from them and have raised the issue multiple times, they just want to make a buck off the next guy. Never again.
Reason of review: Poor customer service and bad quality and damaged or defective.
