I just received my 7 1/2 ft tree. I opened one box and knew immediately that I had to return it. It is one of the worst looking trees that I have ever seen. I had to spend $100 to return it. I purchased a 5' 5" tree from Balsam Hill. It came with a bag for off season storage, but I cannot fit the tree sections into the bag. No instructions were included with the tree. I called Balsam Hill for help and learned that I did not receive straps with which to reduce the diameter of the sections so that they could fit in the supplied bag. If Customer service is the face of a company, I hope that is not true for Balsam Hill as it would mean that they don't give a darn. When ordering a pre strung christmas tree in 2012, I was told that yes, the tree they suggested I purchase has branches strong enough to hold the heaviest of ornaments. I purchased a 7 1/2' Baby California Baby Redwood with clear lights from Balsam Hill which arrived at the end of October. I have been traveling and did not open the boxes until last week. The tree looks NOTHING like the online photos and does not meet the description. The branches are "sparse" , not full as depicted and the trunk is industrial looking, not realistic at all. We received the top of the line Nobel Fir tree retailing for $1,400 and on sale for $800- roughly 2 Christmases ago. Once unpacked, it had a slight lean to one side. After the first year of owning it 25% of the lights did not function as promised, so we had to go out and buy lights to fill in the areas that were dark. After reviewing the beautiful selection of trees on the Balsam Hill website we decide to splurge and order the 7.5 ft., narrow Norway Spruce pre-lit tree. Please read ahead of time their warranty and refund policy before you purchase from Balsam Hill. If the product is defective on arrival you will have to be at the mercy of their warranty process. When I unpacked our tree, we received exactly what I ordered, a beautiful Colorado spruce. But one whole section didn't light. The problem is internal in the trunk. Do not trust this company under circumstances. And by all means, do not expect customer service that is common with top-of-the-line products. We purchased a 9' Noble Fir just after Christmas. Ordered a tree on November 28th and VISA payment taken on November 29th with delivery date of December 4 - 7.
